Time for Plex — Privacy Policy

Effective July 2026

Time is an independent, third-party app — not made by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Plex, Inc. The short version on privacy: Time collects nothing. Your watch talks directly to Plex — no data ever passes through us.

How Time works

Time is a third-party Apple Watch client for the Plex media platform. When you link your Plex account, the app receives a sign-in token from plex.tv and stores it in the secure keychain on your watch. From then on, the app communicates directly with plex.tv (to discover your servers) and directly with your own Plex Media Server (to browse and stream your media). There is no Time server in the middle — we could not see your data even if we wanted to.

What stays on your watch

Signing out deletes the token. Deleting the app deletes everything.

What Time does NOT do

Plex's own services

Your Plex account, and any traffic between the app and plex.tv or your media server, is governed by Plex's own privacy policy at plex.tv/about/privacy-legal. Time is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Plex, Inc.
